Brian deegan:

Age:

36

Birthday:

May 9, 1972

Originally starting out as a racer in 1986, Brian switched to freestyle during its infancy several years ago to avoid all of factory racing's rules, politics and glamour. For example, there was the time he won the 1997 LA Coliseum 125 Supercross with a ghost ride across the finish line, of course, pissing off all of the officials in the process. Atop his Honda 250, Brian is a gifted rider who is just as adept on natural terrain as he is on any artificial contest / demo set-up. He is well-known for inventing many of his own tricks, like the Mandatory Suicide (a super can to sidesaddle lander) and the world famous Mulisha Twist (off-axis backflip), as well as altering many existing tricks with typical Deegan flair.

One of Brian's favorite aspects of moto-x is old school dirt jumping, like before it turned into acrobatic bullshit. We're talking 200-foot jumps here, folks. These days, you can usually find Brian cutting up the air above the secret Metal Mulisha compounds and jump parks scattered around Southern California, where bare knuckle fights, guns, chicks and wild parties pumped-up by death metal bands like Slayer and Deicide are all just part of the equation.

How ironic that, despite all of the edgy behavior, Brian openly welcomes the largest corporate sponsorships he can get, just to avoid working a day job for some lame boss and continue riding and living the way he wants: raging as hard as possible, messing stuff up and pissing people off. (He claims it's a sell-out only if you let your sponsor tell you what to do). Despite the heavy price tag of his lifestyle--a body full of rods and pins, concussions, broken arms and backs--not to mention a lot of memory loss--make no mistake about it: you're sure to see Brian Deegan raging (on bike and off) well into the future.

Chuck carother:Chuck suddenly became a star when he landed the first ever body varial -- which he dubbed the Carolla -- at XG '04 to win Best Trick gold. The trick is so tough that even a year later it has yet to be duplicated by anyone, including Chuck. The Carolla reinforced what his peers already knew: Chuck is extremely creative and has no fear.

Huck-A-Chuck attained legend status at XG '04 by pulling the first ever body varial, dubbed the Carolla, for gold in Best Trick. An injury prone Carothers has been keeping it simple to stay healthy leading up to Winter X and plans to land his Carolla on snow and sweep the field of backflippers. "I have no doubt in my mind that I can do it again, anytime," ..
Mike metzger: One of the most famous names in action sports, Metz has had a greater impact on freestyle motocross than probably anyone. He has been a chief pioneer, innovator and creative force -- his collection of X medals attests to that. The Godfather's back-to-back backflips at XG '02 are a legendary image. Hampered by various injuries over the past couple of years, Metz grabbed the spotlight in May '06 when he threw a 125-ft backflip over the fountains at Ceasars Palace in Las Vegas.

One of the most famous names in action sports, Metz has had a greater impact on freestyle motocross than probably anyone. He has been a chief pioneer, innovator and creative force -- his 3 gold and 2 silver XG/WXG medals attest to that. The Godfather's back-to-back backflips at XG '02 are a legendary image. However, he's barely competed in freestyle due to injury and a lack of interest since XG '04.

One of the most famous names in actions sports, Metz has had more of an impact on freestyle motocross than probably anyone and has been a chief pioneer, innovator and creative force. However, he's done little freestyle in the past several months. His back-to-back backflip at XG '02 is a legendary image.

Became one of the most famous people in action sports when he threw back-to-back backflips at XG 2002, and he went on to win gold at WX 2003. He then announced his retirement from freestyle competitions until other riders were willing to step up to his level. Unable to keep himself away from XG '03, he decided to compete, only to crash hard a week before the event at the Disney Xperience. Pulling out of XG, he stopped jumping and focused on the AMA/Red Bull Supermoto series, where he finished 7th in overall points. After initially declining his WX 04 invite, he changed his mind on Jan. 19 after Chuck Carothers was forced to drop due to injury.

Called the Godfather for his work pioneering the sport of freestyle motocross, Mike Metzger lives a constantly changing lifestyle. In the past year and a half, he has gotten married, had his first baby, opened and closed a retail store, and dabbled in road racing.
Nate adams: 1st in 2006 Dew Tour, With the exception of the 8 months he missed due to injury from Nov. '04 to July '05, Nate consistently has been the best rider in freestyle since summer '03. No longer a shy introvert, Nate now owns the former Metal Mulisha compound and counts MM members as friends. A hard worker known for excellent preparation, Nate has every trick -- including the 360 -- except the body varial.

When healthy, Nate has been the best rider in freestyle since summer '03. But he broke his left femur in Oct. '04, suffered complications and was off his bike for 8 months. He finally returned in late July '05, won a couple of major events and had several other podiums, including two at XG. A hard worker known for excellent preparation, Nate has every trick -- including the 360 -- except the body varial.

The hottest rider in freestyle, Adams has been on a tear since his two silver medals at XG '03. He became the first rider to defeat Travis Pastrana in a Freestyle contest, doing so at Gravity Games '03. Nate knows every trick, including the 360 onto dirt and several back flip variations. The favorite for gold in XG '04 Freestyle.

Nate Adams grabbed his first XG medals (not one, but two) in 2003 when he finished second in Freestyle and then threw out a flip-click to no-hander lander for a silver in Best Trick. In Sept. 2003 he went on to de-thrown the undefeated Travis Pastrana in freestyle at the Gravity Games. It was the biggest win of his career. Finally, something even more rare in freestyle motocross came Nate's way when he landed a factory sponsorship with Yamaha (Trevor Vines is the only other YZ freestyle rider).

The youngest rider on the circuit at 17, Nate has made an impression on Freestyle Motocross in a short period of time. He won his first WFA Freestyle event in Nashville, TN on October 6, but has done well at IFMA events in 2001, in only his second year on the tour. He finished 2nd behind Adoptante in the VTC series.

PERSONAL
I AM TRULY LIVING A DREAM BY BEING ABLE TO RIDE A MOTORCYCLE FOR A LIVING! EVEN THOUGH I AM ONLY 17 YEARS OLD, IT SEEMS THAT I HAVE TRULY ESTABLISHED MYSELF AS A TOP COMPETITOR IN BOTH FREESTYLE AND MOTOCROSS. I FINISHED HIGH SCHOOL 3 YEARS EARLY WITH A 3.9 GPA AND AM CURRENTLY MAINTAINING A 4.0 IN COLLEGE.Travis Pastrana-
How did a 17-year old kid become the world's best freerider? For Travis Pastrana, he started at age of four with a one-speed Honda Z-50, and soon after hammered his way through a string of National Amateur Motocross titles (5 time National Amateur Champion), becoming World Freestyle Champion at age 14, and an icon in the world of moto. Travis has done more in his 16 years than most racers have done or will do in their entire career. He has yet to lose a freestyle contest he has ridden, taking the gold in Freestyle two years in a row at the X Games, clinched the 125 Nationals and became the youngest rider on the winning Motocross des Nations team. In addition to racking up a full resume of jump-contest victories and video parts, Travis graduated from high school 3 years early, and is taking classes at the University of Maryland. Travis is a true-to-life American hero, with not only an enormous amount of contest achievements, but he also is well-known for his innocent, Mr. Nice Guy attitude who is on his way to become one of the sport's all-time greats.
